Business Mission to Tanzania, 3-7 June 2024
ESECA will organize its last mission focused on smart grids and renewables energies to be installed off-grid.
Tanzania is the sub-Saharan African country with the most opportunities for the development of mini and off grid systems, especially in the northern regions. Although off-grid has a great potential in Tanzania, smart grids market is currently very limited as electrification rates are low and the technology is still incipient, which represent a great opportunity for its deployment. There is also a growing activity regarding battery storage systems (BESS) in Tanzania, linked to the installation of PV systems in rural areas. In this sense, the imports of electrical equipment have increased significantly in recent years, but they are still insufficient.
Considering these aspects and the growing activity of the energy sector in Tanzania, ESECA will organize this mission in collaboration with TAREA, the Tanzania Renewable Energy Association, which is one of the most active sectorial associations from Africa. In fact, the mission will be organized in the framework of TAREA’s Renewable Energy Days, which will be organized 6 and 7 June in Dar Es Salaam.
Preliminary agenda:
* 3 June – Flight to Tanzania
* 4 June – ESECA Workshop. Presentation of the energy market in Tanzania. Focus on smart grids and renewables. Presence of key stakeholders from the sector. Presentation of EU companies and their capabilities. Collaboration opportunities and B2B meetings with Tanzanian companies.
* 5 June – Visits to interesting entities and companies for the EU delegation in the area of Dar-Es-Salaam.
* 6-7 June – Renewable Energy Days organized by TAREA. This event includes a conference with several sessions and topics about energy, an exhibition space to promote innovative technologies and a networking space for developing contacts and organise meetings. The event is focus on renewable energy, smart grids, microgrids, small and large energy projects and energy efficiency.
* 7 June evening flight back to Europe or spend the weekend and join the German business mission (10-14 June) the following week.
-----
ESECA project has funding to support European SMEs with their travel costs and registrations for the event.
Note for German SMEs: The ESECA mission is a perfect complement to the German business mission to Tanzania (10-14 June 2024)
Renewables go international: Networking event, 6-8 December 2023 in Augsburg/Germany
The Bavarian Cluster Power Electronics organized the third international networking event of the ESECA partnership in conjunction with Offgrid-Expo/Conference in Augsburg. European and African stakeholders connected and learned from their experience while mingling with the off-grid community and enjoying a side event at the famous Christmas market in the city center of Augsburg.
Business Mission to Kenya & Rwanda, 2-11 October 2023

Business Mission to Senegal 3-7 July 2023, Dakar, Senegal

The mission aims to intensify business network collaboration among European companies in the renewable energy and smart grids sectors with Senegalese companies. ESECA is organizing this mission in collaboration with another European cluster partnership, AEWEN, which has also Senegal among its target markets and covers the water and energy sectors among its strategic areas.
The mission includes a one-day-event conference, with key stakeholders from Senegal invited to attend and present the country’s opportunities, visits to key stakeholders and installations, and ad-hoc B2B meetings for the European companies with Senegalese possible clients/partners.
